About Creative Cabinets & Design

Jennifer Thompson is an NKBA-Certified Kitchen Designer. She attended UAB and transferred to Virginia College of Birmingham to pursue her degree in Interior Design. She has been designing in the Birmingham market since 1997. She is very involved in the local NKBA chapter as well as the Birmingham Association of Home Builders.

Greg Thompson, our manager, is an experienced cabinet installer. He originally got into the building industry when he managed and coordinated home remodels for Home Depot. After this, he worked for a local construction company managing and installing multiple kitchen projects for 12 Home Depot stores. He later went to work for a company called Masco, where he was a full-time cabinet installer for large scale builders such as D.R. Horton and Signature Homes.

Wendi Yount is our senior Kitchen and Bath Designer and Showroom Manager in our Panama City Beach, FL location. In 2016, Wendi fulfilled her lifelong dream and moved to the beach after selling her own successful cabinet business in Birmingham, AL. Never expecting to end up in cabinets and design, Wendi's faith led the way as she literally stepped out of her own kitchen 10 years ago into literally hundreds of others.

I have the privilege of being on the design team of Creative Cabinets and Design. This has become my passion along with a desire to meet and exceed client expectations for their home. I am so excited to be able to create or re-create, the kitchen, bath, and other significant home spaces for our customers. I also have the opportunity of working with an amazing semi-custom cabinet manufacturer, Wellborn, and the Wellborn family.

My love for interiors began when I was about 9 years old, drawing perspectives and layering materials and finishes on mood boards. This passion and drive got me through a degree in Interior Architecture, where an educational foundation brought to fruition an understanding of accessibility, building codes, and standards. This was a good basis for attaining my first internship and eventually job at a cabinet design firm along the coast of New Jersey. Spending two years designing coastal kitchens, baths, and all things cabinetry instilled a love for cabinetry that I never knew I had.

Todd Yount is our Field and Operations Manager in Panama City Beach. He's also Wendi's husband and a formidable and very personable cabinet guy with over 30 years of experience in cabinetry. Starting out at an early age in cabinet refinishing, Todd's personality, work ethic, and extensive knowledge in custom cabinetry and home construction kept moving him forward until he started the first dealer location of Custom Woods Products in Dallas, Texas, today nationally recognized as Kitchen, Bath and Home Texas.

In 1990, Missy graduated with an accounting degree from Auburn University. After graduation, she started in Internal Audit with a financial institution which started a 17-year career in multiple areas in that industry. In 2009, she went to work with a cabinet company as their office manager and maintained their books. In 2013, she transitioned to Creative Cabinets and Design where she currently manages the office, maintains their finances, and many more tasks in the office and warehouse.

Working with Creative Cabinets & Design has given me this opportunity to spread my wings and really dive into creating special spaces for my clients. To work with wonderful designers that have been in this business for years has only helped with my knowledge of cabinet design. I got my start in this area about 12 years ago as a fluke while working at Lowe's. All it took was to watch a designer work on a layout and as they say, the rest is history.
